Dino Games
Materials
- masking tape
- sharp 7-inch long Tyrannosaurus Rex teeth cut from white construction paper
Preparation
Outline an 8-foot circle on the floor in your classroom. Hide the teeth in different places around the room.
Play
Tell the children that there are Tyrannosaurus teeth hiding around the classroom. Have the children find the teeth and bring them back to the circle. Show the children how to tape the teeth around the circle’s edge pointing towards the middle.
Explain to the children that the circle is as wide as Tyrannosaurus Rex’s mouth. Call on the children to come and stand inside the Tyrannosaurus’ “mouth.”
See how many of them can fit into the circle. Scientists believe this powerful predator could eat up to 500 pounds (230 kilograms) of meat in one bite. Could Tyrannosaurus eat the whole class in one bite?
