Leaf Creations
*This activity is based on Lois Ehlert’s Leaf Man.
Materials
- fall leaves
- clear tape or glue
- 18” x 12” white construction paper
Ask the children to bring leaves from home. (You might want to decorate leaf collecting bags to send home.)
With the children compare the color, shape, and size of the leaves. The children could place the leaves into sorting circles.
After a fresh reading of Leaf Man, let the children create their own leaf-y animals!
Younger children may just want to glue leaves to their paper and that’s fine.
