Mud Art Projects
Muddy Foot Print Art
Materials
- Brown Tempera paint or mud
- Large sponge
- Large bowl for washing feet
- Towels
- Brushes
Have each child take turns sitting in a chair. Have the seated child take off her shoes and socks, and raise her feet. Carefully paint brown paint on to the bottom of the child’s feet or have her step on a sponge which is filled with paint or mud. Place a piece of paper next to the chair and have the child stand on the paper. After the print has been made, have the child step into a bowl of warm, soapy water and wash her feet.
Finger Mud Paint Craft
Materials
- Pink construction paper
- Marking pens
- Garden soil (not potting soil)
- Large sheet of white construction paper
Cut out the shape of a pig body from the pink construction paper. Glue it onto the white paper. Have the child draw on the legs, tail, eye, ear, and nostril with a marker. Mix a little water with the soil and paint the pig in mud with fingers.
Sing the song Mud, Mud, Mud Is Fun.
