Nature Tales: Nocturnal Animals
Nature Tales is a once a month story time program provided by Woodbury County Conservation Board and Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center.
Books
Quiet Night by Marilyn Singer
One Nighttime Sea by Deborah Lee Rose
Discussion
Using puppets and furs of nocturnal animals, discuss what kind of animal it is, where it lives, and what it eats. Discuss why some animals are awake at night and others are awake during the day. We watched the wild Turkeys outside in the snow and talked about them being diurnal.
Craft: Finger Puppet Bats
We made bats using black film canisters and glued on pre-cut wings, and ears and foam circle colored eyes.
