- Dinosaurs Galore! By Giles Andreae
This is a good activity for reviewing, experiencing, or learning basic geometric shapes.
Read the picture book Dinosaurs Galore! to the children. Then go through several pictures and see if the children can identify the geometric shapes that the illustrator, David Wojtowycz has used for his dinosaurs.
Help the children sort some of the pre-cut shapes into sorting bowls.
Then place all of the shapes into the bowls and pass out the glue sticks.
It works best if the children create their dinosaur before they glue it down.
Encourage the children to make up a name for their dinosaur. Help them to label their dinosaur with its name.
