Snake Marionette

Snake Marionette

Materials

  • yarn or string
  • rulers
  • scissors
  • tape
  • pencils or small sticks
  • honey locust seed pods
  • eye stickers
  • circle dot labels

Let the children choose a seed pod.
The head is the part with the stem because the stem looks like a tongue.
They can place a sticker eye on both sides of the head.
Then the children place circle dot labels on the snake body.
Help the children use the rulers to measure and cut two pieces of 12” yarn. Then help them tie one piece of yarn behind the head and the other piece in front of the tail.
Attach these strings to a pencil and tape the knots down.
Now the children can move the pencil to make the snake go up and down.
